Merchants Bank today announced the opening of its newest full-service banking center in Bloomington, Indiana, marking the company’s first branch in southern Indiana. The location, at 101 W. Kirkwood Ave., Suite 030, officially opened to the public at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 27.
Situated in the heart of downtown Bloomington, the new branch is designed to deliver flexible, convenient access to a wide range of financial services for individuals, families, business owners, and students. The location offers Merchants Bank’s full suite of services, including traditional community banking, residential mortgage banking, multifamily mortgage banking, business banking, including small business lending, and more. Services are available in person or by appointment.

The branch also features ATM access, private meeting rooms, and a dedicated training space, creating opportunities for one-on-one financial guidance. The opening follows last August’s announcement of a transformative $50 million sponsorship between Merchants Bank and IU’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. A central component of the sponsorship is Merchants Bank providing free financial literacy education to all student-athletes. The new branch will offer space for in-person support and programming designed to help student-athletes build strong financial foundations and confidentially navigate their financial futures.

Merchants Bank celebrated the opening of its new Bloomington branch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, April 24, alongside key Merchants Bank leaders and select IU student-athlete brand ambassadors, including basketball player Trent Sisley and football players Josh Hoover, Charlie Becker, Carter Smith and Tyrique Tucker.
Parking for the branch is available at the 4th Street Parking Garage, located at 105 W. 4th Street, as well as street parking where available. Operation hours for this branch are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.
