Michael J. Dunlap

Michael (Mike) Dunlap is an accomplished leader in the mortgage banking industry, currently holding multiple prominent roles, including President and CEO of Merchants Bank of Indiana, President and COO of Merchants Bancorp, and Chairman of Merchants Capital Corp. With over 30 years of experience, Mike’s strategic expertise and dedication to excellence have been instrumental in the success of Merchants Bank and its affiliated companies.

Having joined Merchants Bank in 2009 as Senior Vice President of Mortgage Banking, Mike quickly ascended the ranks and became a vital member of the Board of Directors in 2014. Beyond his roles at Merchants Bank, he serves on the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Residential Board of Governors and is a member of its Board of Directors.

Throughout his career, Mike’s achievements include establishing Merchants Bank’s warehouse lending platform and successfully launching Merchants Mortgage, driving the organization’s growth and expansion. His journey in finance began as a Certified Public Accountant at KPMG, and he further developed his financial expertise through key positions at National City Mortgage (now part of PNC), Bank One (now JPMorgan Chase), and Waterfield Mortgage.
