Merchants Bank (NASDAQ:MBIN) announces the hiring of Gavin Nelson as the Client Deposit Services Sales Officer to serve Tampa, Florida, and the surrounding area.
Nelson joins the Merchants Bank team with over 20 years of experience in banking and finance. Prior to joining Merchants Bank, he served as Vice President at the Bank of Tampa, where he spearheaded the management of a large portfolio of high-net-worth clients, consistently exceeding client satisfaction, customer retention, and revenue benchmarks. He has also served as a private banker at JPMorgan Chase and a premier banker at Wells Fargo.

Based in Tampa/Clearwater, Nelson is responsible for prospecting, identifying, and acquiring new deposit clients while serving as the primary relationship manager for existing clients. His primary focus is gathering deposits and delivering specialized financial solutions to a diverse range of clients by partnering with homeowners’ and condominium associations, investment advisors, and family offices. He will provide product expertise and consultative guidance on sales opportunities, ensuring a seamless client experience.
Nelson is a graduate of Palm Beach Community College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management.
